[Lvlug] Firefox and GMail Problem

Okay, this is a strange one:

Yesterday evening, tried to access my GMail account with Firefox 3.0.11 (64-bit), but after the login, the progress gadget stopped about a 1/5 of the way done and didn't proceed any farther.  If I clicked the "Basic HTML" page, I got through to the basic HTML version, but the Standard version, which had been working fine the day before and for a couple years before that, failed every time.  Strangely, GMail worked just fine in Opera.

I even booted up Fedora Core 6 64-bit, which was my previous OS and is still installed as a backup (I'm using Fedora 9 64-bit currently), and Gmail "Standard" came right up in Firefox 1.5.  Okay, Firefox problem, maybe.

Using yum, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox on Fedora 9, but that didn't fix the problem.  Otherwise, everything else works fine.

FWIW:  I did have a power outage last week--Yeah, no battery backup.  Firefox was running, but I wasn't at the machine at the time.  I turned off the Master Switch on the power strip until the power returned.  Took about 3 hours.  Anyway, everything booted up just fine.  No errors reported, etc.

Any ideas on the GMail problem?  Or a fix?
