All,
I agree. Ultimate forum for the visual observer.

All,
Please take a look at this suggested Yahoo Groups site. It has some of the best observers in the country today. Brian Skiff of Lowell, Jay Freeman, Sue French and the list of extraordinaires goes on.
When convient, look over some of the discussions. Before I get involved I want to have my stuff together.
Seems like a great site to see what others beyond our own backyards are doing. Even if you are not a visual observer, it can't hurt.

Roger,
If you'd like to join a visual-observing group, try Amastro http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/amastro/ . Equipment talk is forbidden (Yay!). It will get you chastised, and then tossed out if you persist. An occasional slip may be overlooked, but the only equipment discussions that are actually allowed are such things as "This object responds really well to an H-beta filter." You won't find members writing much about sketching, but some have websites where their sketches are displayed. This is the only web group in which I actively participate. Most of the observers on Amastro are quite advanced, and I learn many interesting things from their posts.
BTW, when it comes to sketching pencils, I find 4B is the one I use the most.
Clear skies, Sue
