[LVAS] Looking for Hot Astronomy Chicks

(I apologize for the subject line, but it was too good to pass up.)

I have a request from Monaco Middle School for someone(s) to come out
Friday, April 23 to a "read-a-thon sleepover" for about 30 middle
school girls, to give a demonstration (which I interpret to mean
showing how a telescope works and is used) and let the girls observe
whatever might be up at the time.

We currently have the twice postponed (due to weather) Mt. Olive
Lutheran School event on that date. We're also likely to get a last
minute request from the local Boy Scout council for support at the
Sunset Park Camporee

What I'm looking for is two or three of our lady astronomers to
handle this event. While I don't think there is any problem with
guys being there, I'd like the girls to see that this hobby/career is
as much for them as it is for boys.

Please let me know if you are interested, as soon as possible. In my
response to the teacher, I'm telling her that we have another event
already scheduled, but I'm inquiring of my volunteers to see if I can
cover both events. As we are probably an "add on" to the event, if
we can't make it, things will be okay, so you can have a week to
consider whether you want to attend.

Thank you, ladies.
