I was testing my internet connection to my telescope last night. The weather was quite warm, in the 50s at the start, but I had high clouds that kept me from doing any real observing. I could see the Christmas Tree Cluster, but that was it.
My remote capability worked, so I hope to test it from the CSN Planetarium today and do a proof of concept demonstration tomorrow night during out club meeting. Doesn't look like I will get out for any real observing until our Death Valley outing on MLK holiday weekend.
Talk at you later.

Using a nebula filter I could only imagine seeing a hint of nebulousity around the 4.5 magnitude 15 Monocerotis. However it should be noted that my backyard is not a dark site and my contrast on faint nebulae such as this is very lacking with my f/4.5 scope if the sky is not very dark. I feel that with a better site the faint nebulosity would come to life, but am doubtful that the cone would be visible in a 10-inch scope. .
