Rob,

I'm more likely going to Redstone, depending on what develops. Hope it works out for all of us! If things change, I'll let you know.

Fred

Fred,

When I read the information on the webpage, it mentioned that the image was from the IR portion of the spectrum, so the visual light from the Trapezium would be much more subdued and the IR portion more enhanced. Observing it visually, the Trapezium burns through the gas and dust that still surround the stars. There's a Hubble or or most likely a Chandra image that also shows a tremendous amount of nebulosity detail without the Trapezium being very noticeable at all.

Will we see you this weekend out at the Valley of Fire?

Rob

Elena,

Thanks for the reference. That IS a very detailed photo!

I noticed the Trapezeum is blotted out by all the nebulosity, or at least it is very hard to pick out. Normally, it's one of the first things you notice when you look at it visually.

Fred
