No, not a concern. Wondered if anyone else has been out there besides Rob
(and me & Art, now). We stopped at the motel/pizza place and had lunch of
the deluxe pizza which was very good. The locals that work there gave us
good instructions for finding Pear Avenue.
The porch is a nice long slab of concrete that wraps around the "warm-up
hut" and there is a small slab plus a larger slab of concrete for telescopes
away from the mobile home. The lot is pretty big, filled with many big &
tall Joshua trees so the horizon actually begins above the level of the
trees.
While we were there we met a gorgeous female canine, a neighbor from across
the street. She came over to greet us and meet our dog. She was huge, not
quite the size of a St. Bernard but going in that direction. She was not
only very friendly but followed our car to the exit, wagging her beautiful
tail the entire time.
We left our house at 10:30 a.m. and got to the property about 2:30 - 3:00
p.m. due to the stops we made. Coming back to the valley it took until
almost 6:00 p.m. So it was a 7+ hour trip. The return trip was delayed due
to the heavy traffic over the dam. Next time we go out there we will go by
way of Laughlin to avoid the dam. It'll take a little longer but that damn
traffic was a bummer. ***Elena
