[Lvas] Jupiter's Moons Disappear

Hello,
Diane and I caught the start of the great moon vanishing just now - an
impressive sight. All four Galilean moons are "invisible" - either in
front of, behind, or in the shadow of Jupiter. Ganymede might be just
barely visible(?) against the face; Europa isn't, though I think
that's its shadow next to Ganymede. (Later in the night, this will
turn into a double shadow transit.) Callisto is in Jupiter's shadow
and basically invisible. Io is completely blocked by the planet.
The start of the event, with Ganymede disappearing from view and
Europa's shadow coming into view almost simultaneously, was fantastic.
If you have the chance, it would be worthwhile to catch the end of
it.
Regards,
Jonathan
