Sorry to hear about your change in weather. 
 
The conditions here in western North Carolina are again superb. I set my scope up about an hour ago and I am getting ready to go out. Our sunset is about 5:30 and moonrise last night was about 9:05 so I will have at least a couple of hours which I plan to devote entirely on NGC-891 and planetary nebula IC 1747 in Cassiopeia.
 
Re: NGC-891 with a 4-inch. 
 
As I mentioned in my previous e-mail, I could not see the galaxy with my 4-inch refractor from my backyard. I have been unable to find any information on NGC-891 from Walter Scott Houston who observed his last 25 or more years almost exclusively with an antique equatorially mounted 4-inch Clark f/15 refractor. I wonder if he had the same problem with NGC-891 as I have had many times with my 4-inch?

All,
 
Looks like tonight is going to be a bust. I held out hope until the very end, but it is not looking like things will clear, despite what the Clear Sky Clock says. I just checked the satellite and there is a thick band of junk coming our way. There is a gap after it but by the time the gap reaches us, the moon will be up.
 
Oh well, maybe I can get a good look at Jupiter from my back yard. It's about the only thing I can see in the sky from here anyway.
