All,

Friday night 7:30 - 9:00 PM

Perfect night, calm, 35°, both seeing and transparency excellent. I took my 4-inch refractor out and observed from my backyard till the moon cleared the trees at approximately 9:00 EST.

I looked at the spot where the galaxy was suppose to be for 1.5 hours and could not see it. I tried every EP combination, averted vision, field motion, and not a hint. I could not even imagine seeing it. I am probably not going to spend anymore time using my refractor on this object. It is my opinion that it would be extremely difficult from a dark site with anything less than a 6-inch scope.

Tomorrow night I am going to use my reflector for notes and a new sketch after 10 or more years.
