Roger,

Your drawings are true works of art. I hope some of that rubbed off on your students!

Subject: [Lvas] GWU's new scope

LVAS,

Dr. Don Olive is very proud of the new Gardner-Webb University telescope. A 16-inch Ritchey-Chretien telescope with a Paramount mount. I had e-mailed about this earlier.

The focus is electronic and if you look carefully, you can see that the focus is the movement of the secondary.

This was a donation to the University ... total value $50,000. I understand that Harvard has several...identical to this one.

I was able to do a class on sketching to one of the GWU astronomy classes this past Thursday. Don too, feels that we have to keep this ancient "art" alive. I was honored to have been asked. I thought it went very well...
