David, just to answer your question, I am not going.

Is anyone considering going?

This "early monsoon" weather pattern has me concerned. The Kaibob
National Forest is on top of a 9000 foot plateau/mesa, and is the
perfect breeding area for pop-up thunderstorms during the monsoon season.

If I do go, I plan to camp (in your face, Mr. Thunderstorm!),
probably in the DeMotte Campground, pretty much next door to the
lodge. According to the National Forest website, this campground
does not take reservations. As the star party runs
Thursday-Saturday, I expect getting a campground on Thursday should
not be a problem.

If you plan to go, and plan to get a cabin/room at the lodge, you
should look into making reservations ASAP.
