r) where it appears elongated N-S and shows a very slight central concentra=
tion. In 25 cm motion of the field helps in showing the low surface brightn=
ess galaxy=2C but it is difficult and ill-defined as best. Many field stars=
are superposed on an indefinite haze of faint stellarings near the thresho=
ld of vision. With the 30 cm it is even more difficult=2C since the galaxy =
is of such LSB. This galaxy may be best seen in a small scope indeed.=20
=20
Barnard discovered it with a 5-inch refractor as I have mentioned before. H=
erschel missed it with his very large reflector. I am hopeful that my 4-inc=
h refractor will present my first observation of this galaxy.=20
=20
There has already been one member of the LVAS that has reported an observat=
ion of this galaxy this past weekend...maybe I can be the second?
=20
Hopefully Fred will not get upset with me for telling this=2C but if he doe=
s I am sure that he will get over it. I have actually only talked with one =
other amateur that has observed this galaxy and he did not have the detaile=
d supporting notes that Fred has.=20
=20
Actually second or twentieth would be fine with me. It would be great if th=
ere are lots of notes=2C sketches and images for comparison on this one. I=
f those tropical depressions from the coast of Africa do not stop I may be =
left out. =20

Best regards=2C Roger =20

All=2C
=3B
If anyone has watched the Weather Channel as of late =
However=2C I am very hopeful that =3Bthe weather will improve and a=
