LVAS all,
 
It is my sincere wish that members of the LVAS would borrow the Skiff/Luginbuhl book for review. 
 
If anyone is truly interested in learning how to take notes this is the book. The astronomer/authors can describe an object with such precision you will actually see the object without an image.
 
This book is more than notes, as it describes in the most precise detail possible over 2,000 deep-sky objects. 
 
Skiff is an a professional astronomer at the Lowell Observatory on Mars Hill and lives in the same house that Robert Burnham Jr. lived in during his 20 years of employment there.
 
If you are an imager it will cause you to look for all of the fine details that these two extraordinary astronomers can visually see. If you take notes like Fred, it will take you to a higher level than you could ever have imagined. 
 
It is my sincere hope this e-mail will inspire someone to get this incredible book and spend an evening reading about some of your favorite objects and realizing all the things you have missed.
 
I would not sell mine for any price as I have owned it for nearly 18 years and have used it extensively. I purchased it new and I have treated it with delicate care. Next to my personal mentor...astronomy professor/personal friend Tom English this book has been the second most important contributor to my knowledge as an amateur.     
 
Hopefully I have caused enough curiosity that someone would get this book ASAP and begin the quest to a higher order in amateur astronomy...
