[LVAS] Amargosa

Rob,

If you were able to get an image it would be one of very few by an amateur. I am not aware of anyone (personally) other than Sue French to have observed this galaxy visually. She could see it with her 105 Astro-Physics Traveler refractor...pretty amazing.

I wondered about the 188x magnification with a 10-inch as listed in S&T. This was an error and should have been 118x.

I am hopeful that I can get out tonight and attempt this galaxy. I will try to sketch, and if possible will post tomorrow. Can't wait to see your results.

roger

Roger,

After looking at several reference photos, I'm certain that I saw IC-10 tonight. I'll get you an image as soon as I can.

Rob,

If you should observe tonight, would you please take a look at IC-10 in Cassiopeia? I am in discussion with a couple others concerning this faint galaxy.

I have never observed this galaxy and would really be interested in both your visual and Mallincam view. I am hopeful to attempt before the weekend.

Jim Dire sent me an e-mail saying that he was going to attempt a very long exposure of our December object (NGC-474 group) if at all possible.

Hey, if I were there I would sure go with you. It is mostly cloudy here tonight and the wind is really howling.

Good luck, roger
