Rob and all,
I too sent an e-mail to this group earlier this morning.
I have been asked by Tom English to give a presentation at a regional amateur astronomers event in Greensboro, NC in early March 2010. The tentative title will be "Visual Observing In a Digital Age". It is my intentions to highly promote the efforts of the LVAS and the observers challenge. I will start working on my presentation within the next week or so.
In late January we will have our "Regional Gathering of Amateur Astronomers" hosted by Gardner-Webb University here in Boiling Springs, NC.
Our local group are the ones (all of the recipients of your previous e-mail) are responsible for this event which was started in 1992. I am not a scheduled speaker. However, during announcements it is my intentions to again promote the LVAS and the opportunity for participation available to all serious amateurs through the OC. Hopefully Tom Lorenzin, author of 1000+ will be there, and he too is aware of the website.
Wanted to also let everyone know that I received an e-mail from Sue French concerning the November Observers Challenge. She said that it was an excellent article. She told me a month or so ago that she had bookmarked the LVAS website.
Best regards, Roger

Guys,
I've posted the results of the November Observer's Challenge on the LVAS website and I've also issued the December Challenge, as well.
I hope you'll take a few moments to review the observation reports, photos, and sketches submitted by all of the contributors for the November Challenge.
I also hope you'll join us again in the slightly more challenging hunt for the Pisces Galaxy Trio in December's Observer's Challenge.
Thank you for your participation in our monthly Observer's Challenge.
