All,
If anyone has watched the Weather Channel as of late you can see that the tropical storms in the Atlantic ruined my observing this past weekend. It does not look good for this week, possibly the coming weekend also. Tropical storms and hurricaines this time of year can be a big problem for observing in North Carolina.
However, I am very hopeful that the weather will improve and allow me to observe NGC-6822. I have tried too many times from my backyard over the past 20 years without luck, using my 10-inch reflector.
The magnitude 9.3 is very deceiving due to it's (LSB) low surface brightness. Example, PN NGC-6818 which is less than 1° away is also listed at 9.3, but it is very easy.
This year I plan to go to my dark site in the South Mountains for my work on this galaxy.
