Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Our communications have
also inspired me. 

I remember a very old quote from the 60's by Unitron Refractors of NY.
It was an advertisement of their circular eyepiece holder. "A joy shared
is a joy doubled". I don't know how I "just" remembered that after all
these years. It just seems to be very appropriate for my response.

I will never forget my first view of the M-66 group in Leo. The
beautiful edge-on NGC-3628 seems to make this group so beautiful. It is
definitely a favorite of mine, and also M-27. Excellent work...

Jim, I presume that I always have your permission to share your images
with others?

Roger thanks for staying engaged. Your efforts have inspired several to
observe more than they normally would. I know they have inspired me. I
included a couple of photos I shot Saturday night from my backyard. The

Fred, and John

I do appreciate your very kind words and I thank you. I will have the
two sketches in the mail early week. It takes a day for the blue paint
to dry and I coat the sketch with a light coat of clear acrylic sealer
to prevent the charcoal from smearing.  

I did receive an e-mail from Jim Dire this afternoon. He is planning on
an image of the diamond and the Virgo cluster this coming weekend. He
and his wife have been on a tropical vacation.

The weather shows to be excellent at this time, but that can change
fast this far out. 

Again, I was really surprised that Tom English could see the fifth star
so easily. Tom has worked tirelessly for years in astronomy without
receiving much fanfare, or compliments. 

Fred, I am sure that he will appreciate your enthusiasm regarding his
observational notes, and sketches of Friday night. I just forwarded your
e-mail to him.

Wow! Those are excellent notes and drawings. A fine job. I'm crossing

Roger, I am honored to be receiving a sketch you did of the Virgo
Diamond. It will sit in a place of honor on my wall.

LVAS all,

I misread Tom's original report. He did see the fifth star and supplied
an excellent sketch. Tom may be the first person to visually observe the
fifth star. 

Weather and conditions permitting I am going to attempt tonight with my
10-inch. I really don't expect to see the fifth star, but I am going to
try.
