Veterans Parkway heading south.
Then turn left at the next light, onto Adams heading east.
Then go straight thru the 4-way stop at Buchanan and stay on Adams to reach=
the school on your left.
Access will be via the bus lane on the north side of Adams. Make a U-turn=
on Adams at the school (Avenue B) to enter this lane and come to the schoo=
l gate. Watch out for any early bird families with kids.
The teacher, Mrs. Eby, is fore-armed with 'The Evening Sky Map' and a sky c=
lock; I'll give each kid a worksheet with a few constellations highlighted,=
with facts and room for notes about the types of objects that they will se=
e and will be encouraged to describe. Then we'll have a C-8 and an 80mm sh=
ort tube set up with my son helping too. We'll look at the waxing crescent=
Moon and Saturn, go over a few constellations and Polaris, and be sure to =
show the Orion Nebula, with any luck the Crab too, some brighter star clust=
ers, Andromeda Galaxy if not too low in Vegas lights, and some pretty doubl=
e stars.
If anyone on the E or SE side of town with a scope or binoculars would like=
to join in on short notice they are welcome! (and will meet a great bunch =
of kids).
