The weather, at this time, is looking a little cloudy, but is anyone
interested in heading out this Saturday?

Options in no particular order:

1) Redstone picnic area: Along the hwy to Echo Bay, across the north
shore of Lake Mead. Picnic area with restrooms, paved parking
lot. Not really my first choice, as it's an hour and a half trip
through town at rush hour.

2) Pole Line road about 200 feet up Lee Canyon Road from Hwy
95. Dirt road, go out about a mile, off in the wilderness.

3) Lathrop Wells/Amargosa Valley Jackass Airport:
  -- Abandoned airport runway
(http://www.airfields-freeman.com/NV/Airfields_NV_S.htm#jackass)
  -- Restrooms available about a mile away at the Amargosa Valley
Rest Area (hwy 95 and hwy 373,. Google map link here shows airport
to the left, Amargosa Valley junction to upper right
      http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=36.07++-115.95+&ie=UTF8&ll=36.636399,-116.406841&spn=0.024622,0.036392&t=h&z=15).

  -- About an hour from Kyle Canyon Road. I'm hoping to go out there
this Thursday about sunset, to see how it looks, if anyone is
interested in tagging along.
