Dave,

the Crystal Lake is one of LVAS observing sites outside the little community of Crystal, NV. on the way to Pahrump or at least it used to be back in the day. Take Hwy 95 N to state route 160 (past Indian Springs, then Mercury, going to Amargosa Valley), turn left like you are going to Pahrump. I think it's about 5 or so miles to the turn off, to the right, to Crystal NV. Then from there it's about 6 miles to the dry lake. I don't remember the exact coords, but anywhere there is a good spot off the road. It was so quiet in 2005, I had a small beetle crawling in a coke can near-by and heard him all night long.

Granted it's a long drive, but for me it was worth the trip and viewing. That year I caught three Perseids on film and was tickled pink.

Jason
